SPRING/SUMMER 19

For Spring/Summer 2019, Schnayderman’s takes a step away from the digital world and opens the door into the back garden. Inspired by the outside, we explored the concept of keeping nature close to you, wherever you may be. We felt an urge for real experiences and wanted to create a collection that triggers a true sensation, whether it is in the handfeel of a texture, the spark of a colour or how you feel when you wear our garments. The imagery from photographer Tim Walker’s early works has given the collection a nostalgic mood. His bold use of props inspired the depiction of the swan motif and the dreamy forest print that appears on several shirts in the collection.

This season we dove further into sun faded colours, windblown poplins and airy silhouettes. Rustic linens and summer wool mixes contrast drapey viscose, tencels and garment dyed cotton twills, which gives the collection a sense of multi-use and depth. This is also evident in the number of layering options the collection has to offer due to a wide selection of unconstructed Coats & Jackets, Overshirts, Shirts and new for this season: Shorts and T-shirts. A natural step for us was to develop shorts in the same fabrics as some of our overshirts to enable us to create a full look and to enhance the Schnayderman’s aesthetic.

The shirt is the heart of Schnayderman’s, but we continue to develop complementary categories. Furthermore, we translated the language of our shirt craftsmanship into Jersey T-shirts. Our Jersey fabric is specially crafted to be substantial with a weight of 375g. Additionally we applied a treatment to give it the right patina and hand feel, containing the reminiscence of our recognizable overdyed shirts that is a popular item and now considered a Schnayderman’s staple. The latest addition to the Schnayderman’s family of shirts is an oversized shirt with dropped shoulders and a generous breezy silhouette in Italian cotton and a lightweight cotton silk quality that makes perfect summer shirt.
